ABOUT BIGBY STREET DENTAL PRACTICE

At Bigby Street Dental Practice, our dentists, therapist, dental nurses and clerical staff will always aim to provide a high standard of care and services for our patients. It is a six surgery practice, each surgery has air conditioning, and the practice is fully computerised with internet access. We have digital intra-oral and panoral x-ray units, as well as decontamination rooms with vacuum autoclaves and washer/disinfector.

The practice was established in 1925 as a family dental practice and has been taken over by the current principal owner in March 2021. It has disabled access and disabled toilet facilities. The practice does not have on site parking but there are several car parks within walking distance. All types of restorative/cosmetic treatments are carried out apart from orthodontic.

Dental Hygiene appointments focus on preventative dental health to maintain your oral hygiene, as well as treating gum disease.
Dental Hygienists / Therapist specialise in cleaning, scaling and polishing teeth.

These appointments can be booked as direct access appointments which means booking directly to see the Dental Hygienist / Therapist without seeing a Dentist first.

MEET OUR TEAM

Ewa Wozniacka-Pilch

Provider/Principal Dentist

GDC number 110217 Lek Dent Lublin 1991. Ewa joined the practice in July 2007. Ewa is also the practice safeguarding lead. Mrs Pilch and her husband took over the practice in March 2021.

Sarah Coupland

Practice Manager

GDC number 138289 National Certificate in Dental Nursing November 2007. She also holds the Certificate in Dental Radiography which she achieved in June 2009. Sarah holds a certificate in impression taking and fluoride application and ILM Level 5 Diploma in Principles of Leadership and Management which she achieved in April 2022. Sarah joined the practice in March 2010.

Slawomir Pilch

Provider/Principal Dentist

GDC number 110220 Lek Stom Poznan 2003. Slawomir joined the practice in July 2007 and then left to work at a practice in Hull in June 2009 but returned to work at the practice in January 2016. Mr Pilch and his wife took over the practice in March 2021.

Sherrill Brown

Dental Therapist/Hygienist

GDC number 114429 Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Therapy Sheffield 2007. Sherrill joined the practice in March 2023. She has an interest in all areas of dentistry and dental hygiene, and has gained extensive experience in treating nervous adults and children.

Abigail Whaler

Dental Nurse

Abigail joined the practice in November 2021 and has achieved a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing City & Guilds, January 2024.

Jane Hogan

Dental Nurse

GDC number 180259 National Certificate in Dental Nursing December 2008 Jane holds a certificate in impression taking and fluoride application. Jane joined the practice in December 2006.

Danielle Slack

Dental Nurse

GDC number 299535. Diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3 QCF City & Guilds 2021. Danielle joined the practice in September 2019 as a trainee dental nurse.

Dani-Louise Winson

Dental Nurse

GDC number 307786. Dani-Louise joined the practice in November 2020 and has achieved a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing City & Guilds 2023.

Amy Emerson

Dental Nurse / Decontamination Lead

GDC number 110593. NVQ L3 Oral Health Care: Dental Nursing & Independent Assessment NEBDN 2006. Amy holds the Dental radiography for Dental Nurses October 2007 and Oral Health education 2010. She also holds an Impression Certificate of competence in Alginate Impression Taking January 2022. She joined the practice in October 2022.
